FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion is one of the 7 Sacraments of the Catholic church. While receiving the Eucharist is a Sacrament each time it is received in our lifetime, Catholics celebrate the first time this is done as a part of a special ceremony and a memorable, important part of our lives!

Most children prepare for their First Holy Communion in their 4th year of primary school. They need to have made their First Reconciliation; this is usually done the year before.  At Sts Peter & Paul’s First Holy Communion is prepared and celebrated in the second school term.

This year the Galilee Regional Primary School children will make their First Holy Communion at 1pm on Sunday 19th June. Children attending other schools at the 6pm Vigil Mass on 25th June.
